A group of people on the autism spectrum got to see what it's like to navigate the stresses of air travel while building confidence in their ability to fly. Wings for Autism partnered with the Asheville Regional Airport in North Carolina and the Transportation Security Administration to host an "airport rehearsal" for people with autism and their families. The rehearsal prepares them for everything that comes with catching a flight, with the exception that the plane doesn't actually take off.
