Fans send off Alabama's gymnastics team ahead of NCAA Championship
SALAS. ALABAMA鈥橲 GYMNASTICS TEAM RECEIVED A WARM SENDOFF TODAY AS THEY SET THEIR SIGHTS ON THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP. FANS GATHERED TO CELEBRATE THE ATHLETES AS THEY LEFT FOR FORT WORTH, TEXAS. 米兰体育 13 EMMA OWEN, YOU WERE THERE FOR THE SENDOFF. LOTS OF BAM OF SPIRIT AS THE TEAM GOT READY FOR TAKEOFF. YEAH, GUY, YOU ARE SO RIGHT ABOUT THAT. FANS, ALONG WITH THE BAND AND CHEERLEADERS BROUGHT THE HYPE TODAY AS GYMNASTS GOT READY TO BOARD THEIR FLIGHTS. TAKE A LISTEN. THE BAND SOUNDED GOOD THERE. NOW THE TEAM TOOK OFF FROM THE TUSCALOOSA NATIONAL AIRPORT TODAY WITH FORT WORTH, TEXAS AS THE DESTINATION. THESE GYMNASTS, HOPING TO SUCCEED DURING THE SEMIFINALS OF THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP. NOW, I CAUGHT UP WITH HEAD COACH ASHLEY JOHNSTON AND ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH JUSTIN SPRING DURING THE SENDOFF. BOTH SAY THESE LADIES HAVE FOUGHT HARD TO GET TO THIS POINT. OUR TEAM IS SO INCREDIBLY EXCITED. THEY HAVE WORKED INCREDIBLY HARD THIS SEASON, HAVE GONE THROUGH HIGHS, HAVE GONE THROUGH CHALLENGES AND OVERALL HAS SHOWN THAT THEY HAVE SUCH A FIGHT, SUCH A GRIT, SUCH A DETERMINATION FOR GOING AFTER THEIR GOALS. WHEN YOU WHEN YOU TAKE A LOSS TO A COUPLE, ONE TOO MANY TEAMS, YOU START TO YOU START TO THINK ABOUT A LITTLE BIT MORE THAN YOU SHOULD. AND THEY DIDN鈥橳 LET THAT SPIRAL IN ANY OTHER DIRECTION OTHER THAN FIRE THEM UP BACK IN THE GYM EVERY DAY, DIG IN DEEPER AND DO THE WORK. AND SO FOR THAT REASON, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE STORY OF THIS TEAM RIGHT NOW. THEY KIND OF CLIMBED OUT OF A MID-SEASON HOLE AND ARE THE BEST THEY鈥橵E EVER LOOKED. UP NEXT FOR THE TIDE. Alabama's Gymnastics Team received a warm sendoff Tuesday, as they set their sights on the NCAA Championship.Fans, cheerleaders and band members gathered outside the Tuscaloosa National Airport to celebrate the athletes as they left for Fort Worth, Texas.米兰体育 13's Emma Owen spoke with head coach Ashley Johnston and associate head coach Justin Spring during the sendoff. Both said these gymnasts have fought to get to this point."They have worked incredibly hard this season, have gone through highs, have gone through challenges and overall have shown that they have such a fight, such a grit, such a determination for going after their goals," Johnston said.Spring said even though this season wasn't perfect, it hasn't stopped these athletes from giving their all."They didn't let that spiral in any other direction other than firing them up back in the gym every day, digging deeper and doing the work," Spring said. "For that reason, I absolutely love the story of this team right now. They kind of climbed out of a mid-season hole and are the best they've ever looked.">> FOLLOW YOUR TEAMS: Sports coverage from 米兰体育 13As for what's next for the tide, they'll compete in Semifinal Session One of the NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship on Thursday, April 17. The National Championship is scheduled for Saturday, April 19.

Alabama's Gymnastics Team received a warm sendoff Tuesday, as they set their sights on the NCAA Championship.

Fans, cheerleaders and band members gathered outside the Tuscaloosa National Airport to celebrate the athletes as they left for Fort Worth, Texas.
