Guardian of 1-year-old charged after deadly Alabama crash unveils toddler has been missing for months
An Emergency Missing Child Alert has been issued for 1-year-old Kahleb Rowan Collins on Tuesday.
The child was last seen on Sept. 4 in Winfield, Alabama, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Crime tape was seen surrounding the home where Kahleb lived on Thursday morning as investigators searched the property.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office originally stated that he was reported missing on Dec. 9, one day after a deadly crash.
The crash was near the Glen Allen community on County Road 73, according to Fayette County deputies.

Kahleb's sister, a 2-year-old named Ryleigh Collins, and father, Steven Collins, 40, died in the crash, deputies said. Kahleb's mother, Wendy Bailey, was also in the vehicle. She remains in critical condition. According to the crash report, Steven was driving aggressively at 92 miles per hour on the wet street.
The sheriff's office said law enforcement was told a day later that the man and woman in the crash "had another child" who was unaccounted for, according to a news release.
On Dec. 11, John Elton Bailey, Kahleb's custodian, was taken into custody for failing to report a missing child. Court documents show there were physical injuries to the child, and he was removed from the home and taken to an unknown location, but no report was made by anyone in the home.
Investigators believe Kahleb went missing more than three months ago, according to the complaint.
He is still missing.
