Anniston rape suspect on the run captured by Dollar General employees in Cleburne County
A man wanted for rape in Anniston was captured in Cleburne County Thursday after several days on the run.
On Monday, authorities obtained an arrest warrant for Andrew Traywick who, being aware of the investigation, fled the area, according to the Anniston Police Department.
Investigators from Anniston searched for Traywick for three days, working alongside the Heflin Police Department, the 7th Judicial Major Crimes Unit, the Cleburne County Sheriff's Office, the Oxford Police Department's Aviation Support Unit, and the US Marshals Service.

Eventually, his location was narrowed down to a particular area in Heflin. The Heflin Police Department then put out a BOLO on its Facebook page, asking the public for assistance.
Police say that about 30 minutes after their search ended Thursday, Traywick arrived at a Dollar General on Hwy 9.
Employees in the store recognized him from the Facebook post and locked him inside, where he was taken into custody a short time later.
"Without the help of the partners mentioned above, the businesses, and the vigilant workers and citizens of Heflin, Traywick may have been on the run for a lot longer," said Anniston Police Chief Nick Bowles. "APD cannot thank you all enough."
Traywick has been charged with first and second-degree rape and is currently being held in the Calhoun County Jail.
