Alabama fire departments send rescue crews to hurricane stricken areas
Some Alabama fire departments are sending dive teams and swift water rescue crews to assist in areas hard-hit by Hurricane Helene.The Vestavia Hills Fire Department swift water rescue crew is going to North Carolina Friday afternoon. It is sending four swift water rescue personnel and equipment to assist with search and rescue operations.VHFD is combining with the city of Mountain Brook and the city of Prattville to form a FEMA Type 1 Swift Water Team. The Calera Fire Department鈥檚 Water Rescue Team is also deploying to North Carolina to assist with search and rescue operations.
