Sen. Tommy Tuberville considering Alabama gubernatorial run, will 'probably' make decision in May
Sen. Tommy Tuberville has confirmed that he is actively considering running for governor of Alabama.
In an interview on Monday, Tuberville responded to reports last week from multiple media outlets that began speculating about his plans to run for Alabama's highest office.
"I'm considering it," he said. "My wife and I and family, we've sat down once, and we really talked hard about it. I want to do what's best for the people of Alabama. Is it here or is it in the governor's seat back in Montgomery?
Tuberville said he plans to further discuss his decision with President Donald Trump later this week when both men are in Tuscaloosa for Trump's commencement address at the University of Alabama.
