Barbara Pierce Bush, the daughter of President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush, married her fianc茅, screenwriter Craig Coyne, in Kennebunkport, Maine, on Sunday. And according to her sister, Jenna Bush Hager, the wedding's setting had special significance to the bride and the Bush family."They wanted to get married here because my grandfather is here," Hager said via telephone on "Today." "It was a very secret wedding, a little bit like my elusive sister. But also, just family in a place that means family love and it was beautiful."Maine is where George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush got engaged and where Coyne proposed.According to People, only 20 family members attended the intimate ceremony. Hager, who served as her sister's matron of honor, shared with her "Today" colleagues part of the emotional speech she gave during the wedding reception. "I just told her and everybody how much she means to me," Hager said amid tears. "But ended actually with a letter that my grandfather wrote to my grandmother because I searched all of the romantics and Shakespeare just wasn't doing it." The former first lady and Bush twins' grandmother died in April at age 92.According to "Today," Barbara's "something borrowed" item was a bracelet that her grandfather gave to his late wife on their 70th wedding anniversary. Entertainment Tonight reported the bride chose a custom Vera Wang gown for her big day. 鈥淚t鈥檚 just been a very sweet romance,鈥� Barbara told People of her relationship. 鈥淎nd we鈥檝e been long-distance for most of it 鈥� he鈥檚 been in LA and I鈥檝e been in New York 鈥� but we鈥檝e gotten to spend a lot of time together.鈥漁n Monday, Barbara's mom and dad welcomed their new son-in-law with open arms. In an Instagram post, Laura Bush wrote, "It was a wonderful day in Maine when Barbara married her love and Craig joined our family."
