The Birmingham firefighter who suffered gunshot wounds while at his fire station continues to recover and is back home.A Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said firefighter Jamal Jones was released from the hospital on Aug. 8 and is at home resting."He still has a long road ahead to recovery. Please keep FF Jones and BFRS in your prayers," Battalion Chief Jackie Hicks said.Jones had been in the hospital since July 12, when a gunman entered Fire Station 9 on 27th Street North in the Norwood area and shot Jones and his fellow firefighter, Jordan Melton, at about 8:30 a.m.Melton died on July 17.No one has been arrested in this shooting.This is a developing story and will be updated as information becomes available.
