NOT SURPRISED. TEACHERS WITHIN THE BOONE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT AGREEING TO TAKE A LITTLE LESS VACATION TIME THIS YEAR TO HELP ANOTHER TEACHER. YEAH, ONE OF THEIR OWN CARE FOR HER SICK BABY. SO HERE鈥橲 THE STORY. COLLEEN MCGRATH. SON DANIEL WAS BORN PREMATURE BACK IN NOVEMBER. BEEN IN THE NICU EVER SINCE. SO SHE SAYS THAT HER DOCTOR RECOMMENDED THAT SHE TAKE A FEW MONTHS OFF WORK WHILE SHE TAKES CARE OF HIM. COLLEEN WAS POSTING A PLEA ON FACEBOOK ASKING OTHER TEACHERS IN THE DISTRICT, CAN YOU DONATE SOME OF YOUR SICK TIME, SOME OF YOUR SICK DAYS TO ME? AND SHE GOT THE 60 DAYS SHE NEEDED WITHIN 48 HOURS. In Kentucky, teachers within the Boone County School District agreed to take fewer vacation days this year to help one of their fellow educators.Colleen McGrath鈥檚 son Daniel was born prematurely in November and has been in the neonatal intensive care unit since.McGrath said her doctor recommended that she take a few months off work while she takes care of Daniel.McGrath posted a plea to Facebook, asking other teachers in the Boone County School District to donate their sick days to her. She received the 60 days she needed within 48 hours.
