Boston Marathon champion fell at start before running to victory
John Korir fell just a few steps into the 129th Boston Marathon, but dusted himself off and came back to win while holding his racing bib in his hand. Despite the fall, Kenya鈥檚 Korir won his first Boston Marathon with an unofficial time of 2:04:45.For Korir, the win was a family affair, with his win coming 13 years after his older brother Wesley took home the victory. The brothers embraced at the finish line on Boylston Street. Although the race has been won by a pair of unrelated John Kelleys and two different Robert Cheruiyots, the Korirs are the first brothers 鈥 or relatives of any kind 鈥 to win the world's oldest and most prestigious annual marathon.Korir also won the Chicago Marathon six months ago.
