Cabbage Patch Kids were one of the most popular toys in the 鈥�80s. Their appeal was so lasting they were inducted into the Toy Hall of Fame on Nov. 10, 2023.
Still coveted today, little compares to the lengths some parents went to during the height of their popularity in 1983. The dolls were bought off shelves almost as soon as they were put out. Many feared their children would have to go wait until after Christmas to get the toy.
One woman, a doll collector, recognized the potential of Cabbage Patch Kids early and bought up multiples, hoping to make some money for her own Christmas shopping.
