Ellen DeGeneres is starting off her 15th season off with a bang.While taping her show in Houston that will air Sept. 7, Ellen announced a $1 million to donation to J.J. Watt's Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, courtesy of Walmart."Tell me exactly what the people of Houston need most," Ellen asked Watt during the show taping. "So, the biggest thing that we're doing right now is a) we鈥檙e obviously raising the money, but then b) the thing that we鈥檝e heard the most people need is just water. They need drinking water 鈥� they need water to clean, they need water to bathe, so we鈥檙e getting water," he said.That puts Watt's totals at more than $8.5 million Wednesday evening. Watt began his relief fund Sunday with a $100,000 donation. The fundraising effort took off this week. His goal is now $10 million.
