Rossen Reports: The phone tracker you need to turn on now
A life-saving phone feature, Emergency SOS, is already on your device, but you need to ensure it鈥檚 turned on.
This feature recently saved a family lost on a hike in Colorado by connecting them with police. Here鈥檚 how to activate it on your phone.
For iPhone users, go to Settings > Emergency SOS, and toggle on 鈥淗old and Release,鈥� 鈥淐all with Five Button Presses,鈥� and 鈥淐rash Detection.鈥� Update your emergency contacts and try the demo to see how it works.
On Google Pixel 9, navigate to Settings > Safety & Emergency > Satellite SOS, and follow the prompts to connect with emergency services even without cell service.
For Samsung Galaxy S25, go to Settings > Safety and Emergency > Emergency SOS. Turn it on, set up emergency contacts, and press the side key five times to send an alert and location to your contacts.
These quick steps could make all the difference in an emergency.
