Federal and local agencies announce arrests in "Glock switches" operation

LAST MONTH, SEVEN PEOPLE INDICTED ON CHARGES OF ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF GLOCK SWITCHES AND TWO WERE INDICTED ON STRAW PURCHASES OF FIREARM CHARGES. FOUR OF THOSE PEOPLE WERE ARRESTED TODAY. GUN VIOLENCE IS THE CORE OF THE VIOLENT CRIME PROBLEM. THAT IS PLAGUING OUR COMMUNITIES. POSSESSION OF A GLOCK SWITCH BY AN INDIVIDUAL IS A THREAT TO THE PEACE AND SAFETY OF OUR COMMUNITY. An operation into illegal "Glock switches" has led to four arrests in the Tuscaloosa area.The announcement was made on March 6 during a news conference with the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Tuscaloosa Police Department, Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office and the Tuscaloosa County District Attorney's Office.“Possession of a ‘Glock switch�� by an individual is a threat to the peace and safety of our communities.
