Food Navigator reports the light ice cream company Halo Top is being sued by customers for chronically and randomly under-filling its pints.The lawsuit was filed in California by Youssif Kamal and Gillian Neely, who allege in the complaint that they “paid for a full pint of Halo Top ice cream but did not receive a full pint.�� This apparently was not a one-off incident, as the accusation continues ��(the company) under-fills its ‘pints�� of ice cream �� dramatically so at times, and as a course of business" and that this alleged malpractice “appears to be random to consumers, it can vary in amount of under-filling and appears to be unrelated to flavor of ice cream or the location of purchase.�� Ultimately, that makes it "difficult (if not impossible) for any consumer to know �� until after purchase and upon opening the container �� whether or not they will receive a full pint.”Food Navigator also notes the company seems to be aware of the issue, as there is currently a "Low Fill Form Response" on its website. That said, there's no specific mention of under-filling on the form as it stands.Delish.com asked Halo Top for comment but did not receive a response.
