Food Navigator reports the light ice cream company Halo Top is being sued by customers for chronically and randomly under-filling its pints.The lawsuit was filed in California by Youssif Kamal and Gillian Neely, who allege in the complaint that they 鈥減aid for a full pint of Halo Top ice cream but did not receive a full pint.鈥� This apparently was not a one-off incident, as the accusation continues 鈥�(the company) under-fills its 鈥榩ints鈥� of ice cream 鈥� dramatically so at times, and as a course of business" and that this alleged malpractice 鈥渁ppears to be random to consumers, it can vary in amount of under-filling and appears to be unrelated to flavor of ice cream or the location of purchase.鈥� Ultimately, that makes it "difficult (if not impossible) for any consumer to know 鈥� until after purchase and upon opening the container 鈥� whether or not they will receive a full pint.鈥滷ood Navigator also notes the company seems to be aware of the issue, as there is currently a "Low Fill Form Response" on its website. That said, there's no specific mention of under-filling on the form as it stands.Delish.com asked Halo Top for comment but did not receive a response.
