It's been a year since Alex Trebek was diagnosed with Stage four pancreatic cancer. Jeopardy Host is now speaking out. The 79 year old released an online video saying the one year survival rate for Stage four pancreatic cancer patients is 18%. I'm very happy to report I have just reached that marker, he added. There were moments of great pain days when certain bodily functions no longer function and sudden, massive attacks of great Depression that made me wonder if it really was worth fighting on. So what kept him going? Trebek says, his wife and all the fans who said millions of prayers. Trebek also says the two year survival rate of Stage four pancreatic cancer is only 7% but he is confident he can overcome it. His plan is to take it one day at a time.

I joked with friends that the cancer won't kill me; the chemo treatments will.鈥漈rebek said that the support from his family and his fans has pushed him through the dark days. Trebek鈥檚 oncologist is predicting they鈥檒l be celebrating his second-year survival anniversary.鈥淵ou know something, if I, no, if we 鈥� because so many of us are involved in this same situation 鈥� if we take it just one day at a time with a positive attitude, anything is possible,鈥� he said.
