Former University of Alabama and NFL quarterback Joe Namath is celebrating his 80th birthday.Joe Namath was born May 31, 1943, in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania.Namath was recruited by Crimson Tide head coach Paul Bryant. He led the Alabama football team to a 29-4 record and a national championship during his three-year stint as a starting quarterback from 1962 to 1964.A moment of joy: News We LoveNamath was the top pick in the 1965 AFL Draft. He later guaranteed the New York Jets would beat Baltimore in Super Bowl III.
