Kalen DeBoer enters first SEC Media Days as Alabama head coach
When Kalen DeBoer walks into SEC Media Days this year, it will be a different feel for Crimson Tide fans.
A new coach after 17 seasons is going to have a lot of questions, many about replacing Nick Saban.
Saban, who is also in Dallas for ESPN, has handed the keys over to DeBoer.
On Monday, Nick Saban picked Georgia and Texas as his two teams to make it to the SEC Championship, not Alabama.
Kalen DeBoer is known for his offense, so bringing a returning quarterback in Jalen Milroe shows the trust he already has in his signal-caller.
It does not take a deep dive to see that DeBoer knows how to develop quarterbacks.
Just last year, DeBoer helped Washington Michael Penix Jr. get drafted No. 8 overall by the Atlanta Falcons.
Can DeBoer do the same with Milroe?
Milroe has been vocal about being doubted by his offensive coaches in the past.
The Alabama signal-caller has lost some key players like Iron Bowl hero Isaiah Bond, and the running back room is much younger, but potentially more talented.
DeBoer is a proven winner with a 104-12 record.
But the SEC is another level, that DeBoer knows will be a challenge almost every week.
Kalen DeBoer will speak on Wednesday at SEC Media Days at 9:05 a.m. to in the main room to the media.
