Alabama's newest, and youngest, celebrity chef got a shot to showcase his culinary skills at the Governor's Mansion.

Twelve-year-old Bryson McGlynn, an Opelika native and winner of the coveted Master Chef Junior title, was invited out to Montgomery where he crafted up a three-course meal for Gov. Kay Ivey and some of her friends

The meal began with a starter course consisting of a charred wedge salad with crispy Conecuh bacon bits, chopped giardiniera and a homemade blue cheese dressing topped with crumbled garlic croutons.

Following that was a sliced Australian wagyu ribeye with a chimi churri cauliflower puree, honey-roasted rainbow carrots and caramelized onions.

Finishing out the meal was a slice of peanut butter pie with a peanut butter chocolate mousse with a smoked cherry reduction sauce.

“It was truly my honor to have a lunch made by Bryson McGlynn, an Opelika celebrity," said Ivey. "Not only did he whip up an excellent meal, he lit up the room with his infectious personality really highlighting what it means to be an Alabamian. Alabamians have so much to offer the world, and Bryson certainly showed us that today. He is going places!��

Ivey ended the meal with a proclamation naming Bryson "Chef for the Day" in Alabama.
