NOW, WHEN FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED HERE, BRANDON CLARK, FIRE MARSHAL AND PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER AT HUEYTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT, SAYS THEY FOUND MORE THAN A DOZEN SET FIRES AND AGAIN. THEY ARE BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN SET INTENTIONALLY. MULTIPLE AGENCIES ARE RESPONDING TO THESE FLAMES, AND CLARK SAYS THEY WILL LIKELY BE HERE FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT. Fire crews stayed busy battling multiple brush fires during the weekend.The Hueytown Police Department reported several fire departments were on the scene of brush fires on Feb. 25.The HPD said Johns Road was closed from Virginia Lane to the Transfer Station due to the fires happening in the area.The intersection of Johns Road and Powder Plant Road was also closed, but have been reopened.The Hueytown Fire Department said there appeared to be about a dozen origin points to the brush fires, and they suspect someone intentionally started the fires.The HFD stated there were homes in the area, and firefighters are working to protect those structures.The Alabama Forestry Commission reported the Johns Road fires had burned about 50 acres, as of the late afternoon.Also during the day, Trussville firefighters were battling a brush fire on Edwards Lake Road and that road was closed, but reopened just before 5 p.m., said the Trussville Police Department.The Alabama Forestry Commission reported 28 active brush or woods fires in Alabama Sunday afternoon, several of them were in Jefferson and Talladega counties.Stay up-to-date: The latest headlines and weather from 米兰体育 13
