You just locked into the game? No, I mean, it's, uh, game is the most important thing that would be an outstanding birthday present if we could play well in this game. And so that's what I'm focused on and that's what, you know, we're really, you know, trying to do, um, you know, when your birthday and holidays come up in football season, they're really not holidays and they're really not birthdays. You get older but you don't really celebrate much. You better tell.

Saban gets "coached up" by Miss Terry after Mississippi State game

Coach Saban said the Tide's 40-17 victory over Mississippi State was probably the very first game Miss Terry had ever missed.

"She waited up for me, so that was a good thing," Saban said.

She said she could see a lot more on TV and gave him some coaching when he got home

Nick Saban has a lot of things testing his patience

Coach Saban had his patience put to the test during this season's matchup with Ole Miss after a holding call cost the Tide a 21-yard touchdown by Jase McClellan.

Alabama still walked away victorious with a final score of 24-10.

Coach Saban sets a new record

Even with 14 penalties, Saban couldn't help but see the bright side in how the Crimson Tide rolled with the punches during their game against Texas A&M.

"This may be the record game for me in terms of messing up and still winning, might be a record, Saban said. "You take the mess ups and the penalties and you add them all together. But, then you look at the other side of that, which is, what kind of resiliency and ability to overcome adversity does somebody have when you're talking about the kind of competitive spirit you have on your team? I'd take that any day because we can fix the other stuff."

During a post-practice press conference, Coach Saban took some time to educate the media on "the importance of nothing."

During an appearance at Birmingham's Monday Morning Quarterback Club, a reporter asked Coach Saban how he knows when his coaching staff needs a break.

Saban was quick to reply that the "young bucks" on his team are fine and that we "oughta be worried about me, not them."
