From 'La La Land' mishaps to Beyonce announcements: Pop Culture moments of 2017
From 鈥淟a La Land鈥 related mistakes to Adele bearing her heart to Beyonce and Taylor Swift swiping her social media clean 鈥 here are some of the biggest pop culture moments of 2017.
鈥淟a La Land鈥 mistakenly announced as 鈥淏est Picture鈥 winner
It was the mistake heard in living rooms around the nation: when La La Land was mistakenly named "Best Picture" at the Oscars this year. Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway announced the last award of the night as "La La Land."
Warren Beatty eventually emerged back on stage and clarified the horrible misstep, much to the La La Land cast's confusion, that "Moonlight" was the true winner. Unfortunately that didn鈥檛 leave much time for the actual winners to give an acceptance speech ending the 2018 Academy Awards on an awkward note.

Before the infamous mistake, however, another cringe-worthy situation took place: several people referenced, including Jenna Hager Bush, to a nonexistent movie called 鈥淗idden Fences.鈥 Of course, there is a movie called 鈥淔ences鈥 and a movie called 鈥淗idden Figures,鈥 but not 鈥淗idden Fences.鈥 When the mistake was made, the internet was quick to notice and did not hold back.

Meryl Streep's political speech
Meryl Streep took her time onstage at the Golden Globes accepting an honor with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association鈥檚 Cecil. B. Demille Award to criticize the president and the moment definitely made waves on Twitter.
Her emotional speech touched many people and irked others, including Donald Trump. He took the words personally and believed they were a dig at his actions over the course of the presidential election.

While the story of Wonder Woman isn鈥檛 new, this summer鈥檚 blockbuster hit sent shock waves through the hearts of many women, and men alike, for its feminist message. Gal Gadot played the iconic role of Diana princess of the Amazons in the rendition that garnered $821.9 million at the box office.
that the film became the highest-grossing superhero origin film.
Beyonce pregnant with twins
A lot of celebrities announced new additions to their families this year but one in particular just about broke the internet. Beyonce announced in February that she was expecting not just one child but twins.
鈥淲e would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters.鈥
The post had more than 11 million likes and the announcement kept the entertainment industry talking for quite a while.

For months pop star Taylor Swift led a quiet life after having her personal relationships with Calvin Harris and then Tom Hiddleston out in the limelight. Some say it was because of her apparent feud with Kim Kardashian West and Kanye who posted Snapchat videos that seemed to show Taylor approving of a seemingly salacious line referring to her in one of Kanye鈥檚 songs. The drama ensued because before Kim posted the Snapchat video, Taylor made a speech as she accepted an award suggesting that hadn鈥檛 approved of the line at all.
After months of keeping out of the spotlight, however, Swift then started sending what fans believed were cryptic messages. One of those 鈥渟igns鈥 was more obvious, though. She completely deleted all of her previous social media posts only to replace them with three back-to-back videos of a snake.
Not long after it was revealed that Taylor Swift would be releasing a new album and, soon, a single called 鈥淟ook what you made me do.鈥
