Reward increased for information that leads to arrest in Birmingham firefighter Jordan Melton's death
More reward is being offered to anyone who can provide information, which leads to an arrest in the homicide case of one of Birmingham's firefighters.
Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama announced Dec. 21 that the reward for information regarding the shooting death of Jordan Melton has increased to $46,000.
The Birmingham Police Department reported Melton, 29, of Helena, and another firefighter, Jamal Jones, were shot inside Fire Station #9 July 12, 2023.
Sadly, Melton died a few days later on July 17.
Jones survived.

The BPD said an unknown suspect shot both men, possibly near the bay doors of the fire station.
