Rossen Reports: This Amazon scam is spiking right now
New numbers are in from the Global Anti-Scam Alliance, showing that we lost more than $1 trillion globally last year. As scam numbers keep rising, Amazon says it鈥檚 going after the bad guys to keep you safe too.
In its , Amazon says it鈥檚 eliminated more than 40,000 phishing websites and 10,000 phone numbers impersonating Amazon. Because of that, there鈥檚 been a 15% decrease in us falling victim to fake Amazon scams.
The big one Amazon says to watch out for? Scammers calling you out of the blue saying, 鈥淵ou bought a large purchase, give me your account information in order to verify it.鈥�
Amazon says it will not call you out of the blue to verify your purchases.
