Taneisha Woods says she was born and raised in Hoover, and when it rains, it pours.
鈥淭he flooding kind of like cuts off certain areas or backroads that people may take as shortcuts to get where they're going, so the flooding can be very inconvenient,鈥 stated Woods.

鈥淚鈥檝e had people cancel today just because they didn't want to be out in the rain and get stuck you know, it makes me happy to know that the city of Hoover is doing something about the flooding issue, we've been having an issue like this for the last few years now so I think this awareness and the fact that they're acknowledging it is fantastic for the city,鈥 explained Nguyen.
While the city prepares to make the changes, Woods says her commutes will be less hectic.
鈥淧robably safer driving, faster routes for us to get to where we're going to get our kids and safer areas, it means a lot to me actually, and I feel like it will mean a lot to a lot of people in the community,鈥 stated Woods.
