One teacher at in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is doing the same thing but in her case, she鈥檚 using music in her class to sing about wearing a mask to protect the community.
A lot of time when kids are learning things like their ABCs, they learn in the form of a song something that's catchy and memorable.
Third-grade teacher Yv贸nne Ulibarr铆 said, 鈥淩esearch shows that incorporating music to the learning process is a great way to help kids learn. It develops their brain and of course, it livens your spirits. It's a win-win no matter how.鈥
One student said music, 鈥淚t makes my heart happy.鈥
For her students, it's a message one third-grader said, 鈥淚t like, shows you, like it says all the stuff that you need to know as the information about the COVID.鈥
A message that will be part of the music video.
The song says 鈥淧onte la mascara, proteje la Comunidad, which means, "Put on your mask, protect the community."
鈥淪inging about it gives them a purpose and it's a way to keep them involved. They are saying the message, 'wear the mask please for a community for a family,'鈥 Ulibarr铆 said.
One of her students said, 鈥淣ow that we're going to be on TV it makes me happy because we're going to help people understand how to wear their masks.鈥
The musical message goes beyond what is happening in the world.
The dancing and singing are meant to inspire a whole new generation.
Ulibarr铆 said, 鈥淚'm their teacher and it's my job to inspire them to think in positive ways. It's my job to inspire them to be leaders and it's my job to inspire them to be part of the community.鈥
