Larry Koppe, who has been fighting leukemia and non-Hodgkins lymphoma for the past 10 years, finished his 100th cancer treatment Thursday.
Family and friends gathered at Maryland Oncology Hematology in Prince George鈥檚 County, Maryland, to surprise him on this major milestone.
"Sometimes this gets on my mind so heavy,鈥 Koppe . 鈥淚t's been 10 years now and it never goes away."
Each treatment has given him four more weeks of life for the last 10 years.
"It keeps me alive,鈥 said Koppe. 鈥淚 know that what they are doing for me will keep me alive for the next four weeks and stuff so I'm not complaining."

"Because a couple of my friends unfortunately were diagnosed at the same time I was and they are no longer with us anymore," said Koppe."So, today, 100th 鈥 I didn't think I would ever reach 100."
Larry鈥檚 wife, Dolores Koppe, said every five weeks when he goes in, she anxiously awaits the call to know that everything is OK.
