Alabama's Will Reichard passes NCAA career-scoring record

Alabama's kicker, Will Reichard, kicked a field goal for Alabama on Saturday afternoon.
Not only were these Alabama's first points on the board for the SEC Championship, but they were the points that now give him the NCAA career-scoring record.

Reichard passed Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds (2012-15) for the record. Entering the game, Reichard and Reynolds were tied at 530 points.
For five years, Will Reichard flipped the script, making the Crimson Tide's kicking concerns a thing of the past.
He showed his loyalty by returning for this season rather than going to the NFL last spring. He stayed strong in the midst of loss, pointing to his dad in Heaven after each kick made. He married his Hoover High School sweetheart; like Will, Amelia is a UA grad.
"I鈥檝e kind of thought about it a little bit,鈥� Reichard said ahead of his final game at Bryant-Denny Stadium. "It鈥檚 a little sad that it鈥檚 going to be my last time at Bryant-Denny, but I'm super thankful to have been able to play here for the last five years- it鈥檚 been a huge blessing. I'm very thankful for Coach Saban giving me the opportunity to do so, and I鈥檓 really excited to run onto that field one last time."
Bama Nation was sad to see their kicker play his final game at Bryant-Denny Stadium weeks ago, saying they are proud of Reichard's journey.
