REGISTERED DIETITIAN AND NUTRITIONIST ANDREA MATHIS IS PUSHING BACK AGAINST PEOPLE WHO SAY THERE鈥橲 ONLY ONE WAY TO BE HEALTHY, AND SHE鈥橲 DOING IT WITH A SENSE OF STYLE AND POSITIVITY. HEY GUYS, IT鈥橲 ANDY FROM BEAUTIFUL EATS AND THINGS AND WELCOME TO MY KITCHEN. ANDREA MATHIS KITCHEN IS AS WARM AND WELCOMING AS SHE IS, AND HER SEASON鈥橲 GREETINGS GO OUT TO TENS OF THOUSANDS OF ONLINE FOLLOWERS EVERY DAY. ALMOST 200,000 ON INSTAGRAM AND THEN OVER 100,000 ON TIKTOK. SHE TALKS ABOUT EVERYTHING FROM MAKING HOMEMADE COOKIES TO CREATING A HOT COCOA BAR FOR YOUR HOLIDAY GUESTS, OR CONCOCTING A TASTY SMOOTHIE COMBO TO GIVE YOUR BODY THE NUTRIENTS IT NEEDS. I鈥橵E ALWAYS BEEN INTERESTED IN FOOD, SO I鈥橫 LIKE, I LOVE TO COOK WITH MY MOM, WITH MY GRANDMOTHER. AND SO I KNEW THAT I WANTED TO HAVE A CAREER THAT INCLUDED FOOD. AND SO WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL, I HAD A HOME ECONOMICS TEACHER, AND SHE WAS A DIETITIAN. AND SO SHE TOLD ME ABOUT THE FIELD OF DIETETICS. NOW, ONLINE FOLLOWERS LOOK TO HER FOR INSPIRATION TO CREATE THEIR OWN BEAUTIFUL EATS AND THINGS. THE NAME OF THE BUSINESS SHE STARTED IN 2017 WHILE WORKING AS A DIETITIAN AT A LONG-TERM CARE FACILITY. I JUST WANTED SOMETHING ELSE, LIKE ANOTHER CREATIVE OUTLET. AND SO I KNEW THAT I LOVED TO COOK. AND SO I STARTED POSTING MY RECIPES, JUST PICTURES OF IT ON SOCIAL MEDIA. AND I HAD EVERYONE TO ASK ME, WELL, WHERE鈥橲 THE RECIPE? LIKE, WHERE鈥橲 THIS BLOG? WHERE CAN I GET THIS RECIPE? AND I DIDN鈥橳 HAVE A BLOG, SO I WAS LIKE, OKAY, WELL, LET鈥橲 LET鈥橲 GET A BLOG GOING. SHE GOT THE BLOG GOING AND THEN SOME. SOON SHE WAS CREATING VIDEOS AND COMPILING HER OWN RECIPES FOR THIS BOOK. AS I BECAME MORE POPULAR ON SOCIAL MEDIA, I WAS ABLE TO BE FEATURED IN A FEW PUBLICATIONS. SO LIKE OVER 100 ONLINE PUBLICATIONS AND ALSO PRINTED PUBLICATIONS. SO THAT WAS LIKE THE MOMENT WHERE I WAS LIKE, WOW, LIKE, THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THAT鈥橲 EXCITING. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT鈥橲, I GUESS, TOUCHING THE LIVES OF PEOPLE WHEN THEY SEE MY CONTENT. HER CONTENT TAKES A MODERN APPROACH TO HEALTH AND WELLNESS, AND I THINK A LOT OF PEOPLE CAN RELATE TO THAT. JUST SHOWING HOW HEALTH DOESN鈥橳 LOOK THE SAME FOR EVERYONE. EVERYONE鈥橲 HEALTH JOURNEY IS DIFFERENT, AND THAT鈥橲 OKAY. AND JUST ALSO SAYING THAT WE NEED TO BE GENTLE WITH OURSELVES WHEN IT COMES TO THAT. WITH HER OWN LINE OF CUSTOM MADE CLOTHING, SHE ALSO PROMOTES BODY POSITIVITY ON PLATFORMS WHERE BODY SHAMING IS COMMON AND OFTEN RELENTLESS. WHEN I PUT MYSELF OUT THERE ON SOCIAL MEDIA, I WAS NOT EXPECTING A LOT OF POSITIVE COMMENTS. BECAUSE I AM A DIETITIAN, I AM A PLUS SIZE DIETITIAN, AND A LOT OF TIMES YOU CAN RECEIVE SOME OF THOSE NEGATIVE COMMENTS. BUT I RECEIVED SO MANY WELCOMING MESSAGES, SO MUCH JUST DMS SAYING HOW MUCH LIKE THEY FELT INSPIRED BY MY CONTENT. AND THAT IS WHAT PUSHES ME EVERY DAY TO KEEP GOING AND JUST TO KEEP DOING WHAT I鈥橫 DOING. WHAT SHE鈥橲 DOING IS WORKING FOR HER AND HER FAMILY. THE MOTHER OF TWO SMALL BOYS NOW WORKS FROM HOME, BEAUTIFUL EATS AND THINGS IS HER FULL TIME JOB. THIS IS OUR CHRISTMAS MORNING CENTRE PORTE AND IT JUST FEELS SO GOOD. SHE鈥橲 COOKED UP A KORIR THAT NOURISHES THE BODY AND FEEDS THE SOUL. I WORK ALL DAY, EVERY DAY BECAUSE I REALLY LOVE WHAT I DO.
