You get Unleashed, the Women's Foundation of Alabama's signature event happening this week in Birmingham.Cameron Foster is the Director of Development for the Women鈥檚 Foundation of Alabama. She said some of the most influential women in the state will be gathered all in one place for a worthy cause. "So, Unleashed is a really fun time. It is a 鈥減hilanthroparty,鈥� which is a funny word. But ultimately, we are raising funds for Women's Foundation of Alabama while also having a great time,鈥� said Foster.It鈥檚 expected to be a great time and with some great women too.In 2021, Oscar, Golden Globe and four-time Emmy award winning actress Regina King joined Women鈥檚 Foundation of Alabama Executive Director, Melanie Bridgeforth for a conversation about building economic power for women. This year it's a double dose of celebrity with former first daughter Barbara P. Bush and CBS News anchor, Michelle Miller.鈥淲e are really excited to have Michelle Miller, being the one to facilitate the conversation with Barbara Pierce Bush. She currently serves as the Director of Social Responsibility for the National Basketball Association, 鈥淔oster explained. 鈥淪he鈥檒l be talking about how she has been a change agent in her community and how we can be change agents in our community as well.鈥漈he Women's Foundation of Alabama supports 46 organizations in 44 counties.The money raised from Unleashed allows the Women's Foundation of Alabama to continue its work through grants, research and advocacy, like pushing for the 2024 child care tax credit estimated to benefit 22,000 families while it's in effect.The cost of a ticket goes to a noble cause, but you're also paying for some pretty good perks too.鈥淭hat includes a cocktail hour before our conversation with Barbara Pierce Bush.
