Impact Days: Rounds of storms could disrupt your weekend plans
Impact Days: Rounds of storms could disrupt your weekend plans
It's been *** stormy day across central Alabama. Let's see what's going on right now. We're taking *** live look now in Alabaster using our full moon barbecue camera. 72 degrees out there and sprinkling. We can see that on the first morning in live radar. Lots of showers here on the radar over Saginaw and Pelham and Elena zooming out, got some scattered showers and sort of the western extension of Shelby County and more in the northeast. Shelby County, near Vinson and coming out of Chelsea there along the Highway 280 corridor, but Columbiana and Calera, you guys are dry. You live in Chilton County, you guys are not east of Centralville, north of Maplesville, north of Fairview, we got *** line of thunderstorms going through Thorsby near Ley Dam near Jemison along the Highway 31 corridor with lots of lightning and potentially some gusty. Winds in there too. Another downpour, another storm really moving into Siliaga now coming from Ausa County into Talladega and Clay County just west of Millerville and east of Siliaga, south of Childersburg again along Highway 148231 and Highway 280 as well. Moving *** little eastward, we can see *** severe thunderstorm warning in place for Chambers County. This is near the Lafayette area and lots of lightning, gusty winds and pea size hill can't be ruled out with another thunderstorm moving through parts of Randolph County to just north of Roanoke. So lots of thunderstorms to track. We got another downpour down there, moving in theusta County there just north of the Coosa River coming out of Titus and towards Speed and Highway 231. And more downpours in southern Jefferson County. Lots of rain over southern Lamar, northern Pickens, near Millport, north of Ethelsville, north of Highway 82, moving in at Newtonville towards Fayette and Highway 483, twins seeing some Marang Guan seeing some brilliant there in Marion County. Hamilton, Haleyville, you guys are seeing *** big swath of thunderstorms moving through Grayson soon, Molton now in Double Springs momentarily too. *** severe thunderstorm warning is in place for Franklin and Lawrence Lawrence County due to the potential for some gusty winds. Again, small hail. And all that lightning that we've been seeing *** lot of stray scattered showers and thunderstorms, and this is *** *** good picture of what we could be like majority of the summer, where the humidity and the heat kind of just fuels these daily round of showers and thunderstorms, because the coverage is *** little bit more elevated, at least today, we did go ahead and go on impact day for today and mainly through. The rest of this evening and just after midnight too because we will continue to see these scattered showers and thunderstorms every now and then we'll get the rogue severe thunderstorm warning, but we're not looking at *** widespread severe weather threat with this one. And when we say impact day, that just means that it's nuisance weather could impact your normal routine or outdoor plans, and sometimes occasionally could be severe too. So we'll drop to the 70s overnight. Early tomorrow morning, we can't rule out *** stray shower, but we should stay mainly dry, and here's what we're tracking in the next several days. Father's Day looks similar to today, but less coverage overall. You could see the occasional severe thunderstorm, can't rule that out, but nothing wants spread. Stormy next week, daily storms, in fact, with intense lightning and gusty winds, and then we're gonna keep with the heat. It's really starting to kick into more of *** summerlike pattern. So I'm gonna back this up back to 70 p.m. That's the thunderstorms that we're kind of tracking now and by 10 a.m. you'll start to see most of central Alabama is in the clear. We still got some activity and in North Alabama, even that'll fade away overnight. Like I said, we can't rule out *** few showers early in the morning or your morning commute, but we start to see an increase in coverage starting at 12 o'clock, starting in Northwest Alabama, pushing eastward through 50 p.m. And then the coverage starts to drop off after 11 p.m. Got some showers and thunderstorms in southeast Alabama, and then we're mainly dry overnight into Monday, and then we wash, rinse repeat Monday, Tuesday, parts of Wednesday to the rain changes are just gonna be elevated. We got lots of heat, lots of moisture, and *** lot of lift in the upper levels of the atmosphere. By the end of the work week and towards the beginning of the weekend, we have more drier air and not as much. and that's going to impact the rain changes that we see. But during the summer days, we can never truly roll out *** stray shower or thunderstorm. So let's jump straight to the seven days. Not much changing in the forecast. Highs in the upper 80s, it's gonna feel like the mid 90s at times, especially around 234 o'clock in the afternoon. And after that, that's when the thunderstorms really start to get going, drops temperatures, but I deal with those thunderstorms, intense winds. Lightning, uh, small size, *** pea size he can never be ruled out. But as rain chances drop off, you'll notice that the actual temperature starts to rise as *** result, 90 by Thursday, 90 by Friday, potentially lower to mid 90s by Saturday. So we're gonna keep the heat and we'll stay stormy through next weekend.
