Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown is reportedly wanted on an attempted murder charge in connection with an alleged incident that happened last month in Florida. According to a warrant obtained by The Washington Post, authorities in Miami-Dade County are seeking to arrest Brown on a charge of attempted murder with a firearm. The charges stem from a shooting incident that allegedly took place in mid-May at a celebrity boxing event. Videos on social media showed Brown in handcuffs, but he was not arrested at that time. Brown claimed he was attacked by people attempting to take his jewelry. "I was jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me," he wrote on his X account at the time. "Contrary to some video circulating, Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED. I will be talking to my legal council(sic) and attorneys on pressing charges on the individuals that jumped me."According to the warrant, witnesses told police officers that Brown was the shooter. The alleged victim stated that Brown shot at him twice and possibly grazed his neck. He was treated at a local hospital and released. The warrant for Brown requires him to post $10,000 bond and remain under house arrest pending trial. Brown spent much of his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, before playing one game for the New England Patriots and spending two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
