Clay County deputies, FBI bust Ohio couple for coercing a minor to produce child pornography
An Ohio couple is behind bars after deputies say they attempted to coerce a Clay County minor into producing child pornography.
In February, investigators working a case involving the solicitation of a minor discovered that their primary suspect, John Brickhouse, was a repeat sex offender from Junction City, Ohio, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.
At this point, Clay County contacted the FBI, whose agents began assisting the department on the case.
It was discovered that Brickhouse and his girlfriend Nina Darling, also of Junction City, had been coercing a minor into producing child pornography.
The pair reportedly convinced the minor that their mother was dying and that they needed to help pay for a life-saving surgery.
The minor was told that they could help by selling sexually explicit photos and videos of themselves to a third party over the internet.
Through the investigation, it was discovered that Brickhouse is a registered sex offender, convicted of assaulting multiple children dating back to 2009.
The pair was federally charged in a 19-count, superseding indictment; Brickhouse faces 25 years in prison while Darling faces 5 to 30.
