"If it gets lengthened and longer �� that could get really bad.""There’s so many people who make money with the business of baseball, lot of ancillary businesses depend on that," Adam Sperling, General Manager of Boston's Hotel Commonwealth said.The Kenmore Square hotel has a baseball-themed room with a Babe Ruth card and other cool memorabilia. For now, it sits empty. While the first two series are canceled, Sperling is hopeful the two sides will reach a deal for the sake of society."We’re looking to give people reasons to travel and get out and be social," Sperling said. "This obviously takes one of these key reasons away, so we’re going to hope this gets resolved quickly."
