'Hometown Hero': Huntsville native Jake Rufe making an impact for Legion FC
Even 100 appearances in playing under these lights. It never gets old for Jake Roof. Like before every game I gotta take *** deep breath because you know the heart rate gets going it's it's exciting. After 5 seasons, Jake remembers his first start like it was yesterday. I was surprised because I wasn't really supposed to start the game and then we had some injuries and then coach, uh, Coach So put me in right back full 90. I was not ready for it, but we, we played really well. He's come *** long way since 2020. Early on I feel like there were some times where I was thinking. Maybe I wasn't good enough to be where I was and. To be fair, I needed to grow in some areas and playing with such *** good group day in and day out. I, I got better every year. Becoming *** key piece of this club. Oh, Jake Roof, the hometown hero. Matt Van Okle would know. It's been awesome. I've had the privilege to play with him for 6 years now, seeing him come out of college, um, and just keep growing within the team, *** true professional takes care of himself. He's had *** front row seat for it all. He's great as our glue guy keeps the team together, um. Have *** conversation with anybody can easily relatable, so he's been awesome guy. I love him to death. Jake's doing it all for Alabama. Sometimes growing up I felt like Alabama was overlooked for for soccer on on the national scene and I I just saw so many good players growing up and playing with that uh I want people to put some respect on us *** little bit. And these fans in the Magic City. The opening goal. It's been *** lot of the same fans, *** lot of new fans, and seeing familiar faces and and hearing them. Cheer your name and seeing my family and friends at all the games it's like I want so bad to to win and give them something to be proud of and that's what we're still working for is lifting trophies and and uh pushing the club up in Birmingham, Julia Mitchell, 米兰体育 13.
