SEC cracks down on field storming with hefty fines
UNIVERSITY鈥橲 POPULATION. STARTED WITH THICK CLOUDS AND RAIN. BUT THEN THE AFTERNOON JUST TURNED BEAUTIFUL AROUND HERE WITH A FEW CUMULUS CLOUDS, SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS TO THE NORTH, VERY FEW OVERALL, AND IT鈥橲 A FEW SHOWERS OR THUNDERSTORMS THAT ARE EXPECTED OVERNIGHT INTO TOMORROW MORNING. TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO BE IN THE 60S ONCE THE SUN GOES DOWN, AND THEN TOMORROW AFTERNOON, COLD FRONT PASSING RAIN ENDING AND A FEW DRY DAYS ARE IN THE FORECAST WITH VERY LITTLE EXCEPTION. GOT ONE LITTLE DOWNPOUR UP THERE CLOSE TO JOPPA AND NEW CANAAN IN CULLMAN COUNTY. ANOTHER ONE OVER HERE IN LAMAR COUNTY THAT鈥橲 TRYING TO GET TO THE EDGE OF PICKENS COUNTY. HERE, JUST TO THE NORTH OF ETHELSVILLE AND SHAINE AND SHAW, THIS ONE STAYING MORE OVER HERE TOWARD HYTOP, ORJI AND MILLPORT, TRACKING TOWARD WESTERN FAYETTE COUNTY. THERE ARE OTHER THUNDERSTORMS TO THE NORTHWEST, AND A COUPLE OF THOSE IN OKLAHOMA COULD BE SEVERE THIS EVENING. YOU DO SEE THAT ONE LITTLE SPOT RIGHT THERE WHERE THERE鈥橲 A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH, BUT WE鈥橵E GOT OUR EYES RIGHT HERE IN NORTHERN ARKANSAS AND SOUTHERN MISSOURI. 1 OR 2 STORMS FROM THAT DEVELOPING COMPLEX RIGHT THERE. WE鈥橰E GOING TO FOLLOW THIS VERY WARM, HUMID AIR THAT鈥橲 GOT IT SO UNSTABLE SOUTHEAST TOWARD NORTHERN MISSISSIPPI ABOUT MIDNIGHT, A FEW OF THOSE MIGHT MAKE IT INTO THE SHOALS OR EVEN MARION COUNTY OR WINSTON COUNTY BEFORE 3:00 OR 4:00 IN THE MORNING. AND THEN AS A COLD FRONT RUNS INTO THIS VERY WARM, HUMID AIR. LOOK AT THIS. BY 6 A.M., ANOTHER ROUND OF SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS, SOME OF THEM FAIRLY HEAVY UP IN NORTH ALABAMA, THERE IS A LIMITED RISK OF A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OVER THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE STATE, INCLUDING MARION FRANKLIN, LAWRENCE, MORGAN, MADISON, LIMESTONE, LAUDERDALE AND COLBERT COUNTY, MAYBE EVEN JACKSON COUNTY THROUGH 7:00 TOMORROW MORNING. THE RISK IS LIMITED. WE鈥橰E TALKING ABOUT 1 OR 2 STORMS, TEMPERATURES HERE GOING TO STAY IN THE 60S, SO IT鈥橲 NOT EXTREMELY UNSTABLE. AND THE MAIN TIMELINE FOR THE BEST CHANCE OF RAIN 1 A.M. TO 7 A.M. NORTHWEST OF CULLMAN, ARLEY JASPER AND FAYETTE. 6 A.M. TO NOON FOR TUSCALOOSA FOR BIRMINGHAM AND HOOVER AND ALABASTER AND GADSDEN, ASHVILLE AND CENTRE FROM ABOUT ALABASTER AND CALERA SOUTH, THOUGH IT鈥橲 PROBABLY CLOSER TO 11 A.M. WHEN THE BACK EDGE OF THE RAIN STARTS TO PASS THROUGH. SO WATCH THIS. WE START AGAIN ABOUT 7 A.M. HERE COME THE HEAVIER THUNDERSTORMS, TRACKING TO THE SOUTHEAST BY 8:00 IN THE MORNING. WE鈥橵E HAD RAIN IN COLEMAN AND ONEONTA. JASPER OAKMAN FAYETTE. AND THEN THAT鈥橲 MOVING INTO CHEROKEE COUNTY AND ETOWAH COUNTY. ABOUT 11 A.M. YOU鈥橵E GOT THE DOWNPOURS HERE IN THE BIRMINGHAM METRO THROUGH TUSCALOOSA, PELL CITY, ANNISTON. AND AS THE FRONT STARTS TO PASS THROUGH, THE RAIN MOVES OUT, THERE MAY BE A FEW STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS DOWN IN SOUTHEAST ALABAMA. THEN THE WIND TURNS AROUND TO THE NORTHWEST AND IT GETS DRIER. WE鈥橰E LOOKING AT 50S EARLY SATURDAY MORNING. SATURDAY鈥橲 HIGH ABOUT 80 ON SUNDAY. THE HUMIDITY STARTS TO COME BACK UP, SO WE鈥橪L START IN THE 60S, EARLY IN THE MORNING AND THERE IS A LOW CHANCE OF SOME ISOLATED SHOWERS, ESPECIALLY OVER THE NORTHEASTERN CORNER OF THE STATE ON SUNDAY. MONDAY AND TUESDAY ARE LOOKING MOSTLY DRY. AND THEN OUR SUMMERTIME DAILY DOWNPOURS. NOT THE WIDESPREAD RAIN, BUT THE HIT OR MISS THAT KICKS IN AGAIN WEDNESDAY A
