"Avengers: Infinity War" took in $640 million worldwide over the weekend making it the biggest opening weekend, in the history of cinema. The Marvel installment has stolen the title from the "Star Wars" franchise, and to celebrate the passing of the baton, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy tweeted a message with, well, a literal passing of the baton.In the image, a a lightsaber is handed over to Iron Man with the accompanying message, “From a Galaxy far, far away…to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes…CONGRATULATIONS on the biggest opening weekend in history! From Kathy and everyone at Lucasfilm!”Though both franchises are owned by Disney, what is touching is that the tweet continues a time-honored and classy tradition. Erik Davis, managing director of ticketing site Fandango, shared the imaginative congratulatory notes Steven Spielberg and George Lucas sent whenever they broke each other's box office records over the years.
