Superheroes, unite! Marvel makeover to hit Disney parks across globe
Disney parks are showing off their regeneration and shape-shifting abilities by revamping areas to showcase Marvel superheroes.
Disney parks in California, France and Hong Kong will undergo changes to feature 鈥渢he next generation鈥� of superheroes, marketing reps say. Disney鈥檚 Hotel New York will also change to feature superheroes like the Avengers and Spider-Man.
Disney California Adventure Park, in Anaheim, will feature Spider-Man and the Avengers in what will be 鈥渁 completely immersive鈥� superhero universe beginning in 2020, according to a news release.
The Orange County Register reported that the new area dedicated to superheroes will replace a bug-based attractions area developed after the success of the Pixar film 鈥淎 Bug鈥檚 Life鈥� that appealed mostly to little kids.
鈥淲e are excited to take the next step by immersing our guests in this ever-expanding universe,鈥� Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products, said in a statement. 鈥�(This) is only the beginning!鈥�
The additions join Marvel attractions already in place, such as Guardians of the Galaxy 鈥� Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disneyland in California.
Disneyland Paris will feature Iron Man and the Avengers.
Hong Kong Disneyland will have a new Marvel-themed area featuring Ant-Man and the Wasp.
The Iron Man Experience, which opened in 2017 at Hong Kong Disneyland, has become the most popular attraction there.
