Organizers for the upcoming 2025 World Police and Fire Games made a promotional tour stop in Birmingham.The global event will offer a total of 67 sports in all, including baseball, basketball, the intense firefighter challenge and an event called "toughest competitor alive."They expect more than 8,500 athletes and their families to flock to Birmingham from more than 70 different countries.The World Police and Fire Games come on the heels of the 2022 World Games when the city hosted less than half as many athletes for a little more than a week.While the previous World Games provided priceless international publicity, the Police and Fire Games will pour an estimated $65 million directly into the local economy.鈥淒uring the World Games, the athletes stayed in dorms. Here, they are going to stay in hotels.
