Move over, "Trading Spaces!" There’s a new reboot in town, and it’s arriving in a seriously big bus. In the best news for home décor enthusiasts everywhere, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" is returning to TV in 2020, according to People. The reboot is making its comeback on HGTV, though it originally aired on ABC. The HGTV website writes that the network plans to produce 10 brand-new episodes, each with a custom reno for a “very deserving family.�� So far, no cast has been announced but if it’s anything like the "While You Were Out" revival, but fans are hoping for a return of some of the original cast, like host Ty Pennington.If you’re thinking 2020 is too far away, don’t worry: HGTV has a master plan. The network received the rights to air 100 episodes from the original series, which ran from 2003-2012, so that you can binge watch as necessary. “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is such an iconic show,�� said Kathleen Finch, chief lifestyle brands officer for Discovery, according to Variety. “It’s an emotional story centered around a house. There is real drama, and real stakes around a home being rebuilt.�� She added that the reboot, “It was really a pipe dream for a while and we are really looking to make it all come true.�� Variety also reports that in the 2004-2005 season, the show had an average of around 16 million total viewers on Sunday nights.
