Rossen Reports: Watch out for these trending holiday scams
As holiday shopping ramps up, scammers are seizing the opportunity to exploit consumers.
The Better Business Bureau warns of several popular scams this season.
Imposter scams
These scams involve fraudsters creating fake websites that mimic legitimate businesses. Always verify the URL for misspellings or slight variations 鈥� which are clear signs of fraudulent websites. Also ensure the URL starts with HTTPS, which means the website is secure.
Fake shipping scams
Scammers can send phishing emails or texts about fake package deliveries, aiming to trick you into clicking malicious links. Never click a link in an unsolicited email or text. Instead, if you鈥檙e expecting a package, find your original confirmation email and track it that way.
Charity scams
These scams tend to pop up around Giving Tuesday. Always research any organization you want to give money to and ensure it鈥檚 legitimate. One way to do that is to search the charity through websites like the and .
