YOU鈥橰E IN VANDERSLOOT, WHO HAS LONG BEEN CONSIDERED THE PRIME SUSPECT IN HOLLOWAY鈥橲 DISAPPEARANCE, WILL BE EXTRADITED TO BIRMINGHAM FOR CHARGES STEMMING FROM A 2010 CASE. HOLLOWAY DISAPPEARED FROM A CLASS TRIP IN ARUBA BACK IN 2005. THE LAST PERSON SHE WAS SEEN WITH WAS VANDERSLOOT, BUT HE WAS NEVER CHARGED IN CONNECTION TO HER DISAPPEARANCE. IN 2010, HE ADMITTED TO MURDERING STEPHANIE FLORES IN PERU AND WAS SENTENCED TO 28 YEARS IN PRISON. ALSO IN 2010, VANDERSLOOT WAS CHARGED WITH WIRE FRAUD AND FOR EXTORTING MONEY FROM NATALIE鈥橲 MOTHER, BETH HOLLOWAY, IN 2014. HE WAS ORIGINALLY SET TO BE EXTRADITED TO THE US AFTER HE SERVED HIS SENTENCE FOR MURDERING FLORES. BUT TODAY, THE PERUVIAN GOVERNMENT ALLOWED VANDERSLOOT BE EXTRADITED BACK TO THE US SOON TO ANSWER FOR HIS CRIMES AGAINST THE HOLLOWAY鈥橲. BETH HOLLOWAY RELEASED A STATEMENT THANKING PERU鈥橲 PRESIDENT AND THE FBI FOR THEIR DEDICATION TO HER CASE, SAYING THAT THIS HAS BEEN A LONG ROAD FOR THEIR FAMILY AND NOW WE ARE FINALLY GOING TO GET JUSTICE FOR NATALEE. The suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway for years is to be brought to Alabama.A news release from a public affairs firm announced the government of Peru agreed to a temporary extradition of Joran van der Sloot to the United States for face trial.Natalee, a Mountain Brook native, was on a high school graduation trip in Aruba in 2005 when she disappeared and was never seen again. Holloway鈥檚 body was never found, and no charges were filed against van der Sloot in the case. "I was blessed to have had Natalee in my life for 18 years, and as of this month, I have been without her for exactly 18 years," Holloway said in a statement. "She would be 36 years old now. It has been a very long and painful journey, but the persistence of many is going to pay off.
