SHE COVERED THE GUN TRIALS FOR US TODAY. EMMA I鈥橫 SURE THERE ARE SOME VERY HAPPY ATHLETES SELECTED FOR THIS PROCESS. JARVIS. THAT鈥橲 EXACTLY RIGHT. AFTER A WEEKEND FILLED WITH COMPETITION, FIVE ATHLETES HAVE SECURED THEIR SPOT IN THE PARIS 2024 GAMES. NOW AMONG THEM. IS ALEXIS LIGON. SHE鈥橲 ONE OF TWO WOMEN AIR PISTOL ATHLETES WHO EARNED THEIR SPOT IN THE OLYMPICS TODAY. NOW, LIGON WILL ACTUALLY BE RETURNING TO THE GAMES AS SHE ALREADY MADE AN APPEARANCE IN THE TOKYO 2020 OLYMPICS. I GOT TO CATCH UP WITH HER AFTER TODAY鈥橲 FINALS AND SHE SAYS SHE鈥橲 RELIEVED TO HAVE ACHIEVED THIS GOAL AND EXCITED FOR PARIS. BUT AS SHE EXPLAINS, THE WORK IS JUST BEGINNING. After a weekend filled with competition in Anniston, five athletes have secured their spot in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.One of them is returning Olympian Alexis Lagan.She's one of two women air pistol athletes who earned their spot in the Olympics during Team USA's air gun trials held at the Civilian Marksmanship Program.Lagan said she's relieved to have achieved her goal and is excited for Paris, but as she explains, the work is just beginning."We still actually have another trial for Women's Sport Pistol, which is later on in March," Lagan said. "So I'll probably do a little bit of different training between now and then, and then after March is for pursuing Paris.">> THE LATEST: Headlines and weather from 米兰体育 13Lagan said she feels grateful following Sunday's competition.She thanked her family, friends and fellow athletes for helping her get to this point, saying they provided the support network she needed to prepare for the Olympics.Another competitor showing gratitude for his support system is Ivan Roe. The air rifle athlete punched his ticket to Paris this weekend, while his father, Ed, cheered him on."I'm glad that I was able to actually accomplish this while everyone is still around," Roe said.
