Carlee Russell was seen leaving her attorney's office in Birmingham Friday morning prior to the Hoover Police Department's announcement that she will be charged for her actions.In a Friday afternoon news conference, police revealed that Russell is facing two misdemeanor charges after lying to police about being kidnapped and seeing a child along the side of I-459 in Hoover.Warrants were put out for her arrest for false reporting to law enforcement authorities and falsely reporting an incident. On Monday, her attorney released a statement where she admitted that she didn't see a toddler and acted alone.

"There was no kidnapping on Thursday, July 13, 2023," the statement read in part. "My client did not see a baby on the side of the road."
