5 ways to stay safe during severe weather

5 ways to stay safe during severe weather
$10. THESE STUBBORN STORMS ARE HANGING AROUND THIS MORNING, BUT THANKFULLY NOT DEALING WITH ANYTHING SEVERE. THERE鈥橲 STILL A GOOD SPREAD OF RAIN AND THUNDER BETWEEN WARSAW AND EUTAW. MORE STORMS DOWN TOWARD GREENSBORO AND HILL COUNTY. AND THEN IF WE LOOK TO THE EAST, TWO FROM PINEVILLE TO HEIBERGER, MAPLESVILLE, STANTON CLANTON, ROCKFORD, ALEX CITY, ALL OF YOU SEEING RAIN THIS MORNING, AND THERE鈥橲 A FEW LIGHTNING STRIKES MIXED IN THERE TOO. SO THIS BAND OF RAIN AND SOME THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO TRACK SOUTH. IT鈥橲 JUST SLOW TO MOVE THIS MORNING, BUT A LOT OF US ALONG I-20 AND TO THE NORTH ARE ALREADY DRY, AND THERE鈥橲 SOME SUNSHINE UP TO THE NORTH TOO. YOU CAN SEE THAT FROM THIS VIEW HERE. I鈥橪L TAKE YOU TO ETOWAH COUNTY. FIRST SEE A BIT OF BLUE SKY. WE鈥橵E GOT A GOOD SPREAD OF CLOUDS OUT THERE, TOO. NOW, AT 73, IN GADSDEN. MOST OF US IN THE 70S HERE, AND WE鈥橪L SEE A MIX OF SUN AND CLOUDS THROUGH THE REST OF YOUR SUNDAY. BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS, WE ARE IMPROVING WITH DRIER WEATHER THROUGH THE REST OF SUNDAY. AND SO LINGERING RAIN, SOME THUNDER THIS MORNING THROUGH THE AFTERNOON THERE COULD BE REDEVELOPMENT OF A FEW ISOLATED STORMS, BUT I EVEN DROPPED THE CHANCE OF RAIN BECAUSE I REALLY THINK THAT COVERAGE OF ANY STORMS WILL BE VERY SLIM THIS AFTERNOON. EVEN INTO THIS EVENING, AND MOST OF THEM WILL END UP BEING DOWN TO THE SOUTH. AND YOU鈥橪L SEE THAT HERE ON FIRST WARNING FUTURE TRACK. SO AT NOON YOU CAN SEE MOST AREAS DRY, MAYBE SOME HEAVY STORMS HANGING ON DOWN TOWARD DEMOPOLIS AND THEN THROUGH THE AFTERNOON JUST A FEW ISOLATED STORMS, REALLY NOT EXPECTING MUCH IN THE WAY OF COVERAGE. A COUPLE OF THESE COULD BE STRONG, ESPECIALLY TO THE SOUTH WHERE THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK. TODAY THAT鈥橲 A VERY LOW END THREAT, BUT WE MAY SEE SOME OF THOSE PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND GUSTS, POSSIBLY SOME HAIL, OR REALLY THINK THAT STORM COVERAGE WILL BE SLIM THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON. WISH I COULD TELL YOU THAT WE鈥橰E DONE. WE鈥橵E GOT SOME DRY WEATHER ON THE WAY, BUT WE HAVE ANOTHER ROUND OF STORMS COMING THROUGH TOMORROW. LIKELY MOVING INTO WEST ALABAMA BEFORE 11:00. IT COULD BE 10 A.M. FOR PICKENS COUNTY AND DOWN TO EUTAW. AND THEN THESE STORMS WILL CONTINUE TO TRACK TO THE EAST THROUGH THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS TOMORROW. SCATTERED HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS, MORE OF THE SAME. AND WE鈥橪L STILL HAVE TO BE WATCHING THESE AS THEY COULD PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND GUSTS WHEN THEY EXPLODE IN THE PEAK HEATING OF THE DAY. A VERY STRONG THUNDERSTORMS. THERE鈥橲 STILL 55,000 PEOPLE WITHOUT POWER THIS MORNING FROM YESTERDAY鈥橲 STORMS, AND WE鈥橵E GOT MORE STORMS IN THE SEVEN-DAY FORECAST. WE鈥橪L GIVE YOU A BIT OF GOOD NEWS. WE LOOK A LITTLE DRIER THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK. I鈥橫 NOT PROMISING A DRY FORECAST WHATSOEVER, BUT FEWER STORMS. IS THE STORY MORE WIDELY SCATTERED? TUESDAY, EVEN INTO THURSDAY, I THINK STORMS WILL BE SUPPRESSED DOWN T
