'They didn't deserve this': Glen Allen community remembers the lives of Kahleb and Ryleigh Collins
A community is remembering the lives of two young siblings, Ryleigh and Kahleb Collins.
Ryleigh was killed in a car crash with her family back in December, but it wasn't until then that Kahleb was reported missing.
Detectives said he wasn't found at the scene with the rest of his family. According to court documents, he was last seen on September 4. Kahleb is believed to have been killed by his parents months before. His body still hasn鈥檛 been found yet.
Karlie Allen brought the town of Glen Allen together to remember the lives of the two little ones at the town鈥檚 community center on Saturday. Candles lit the community and filled hearts with hope as tears fell to support the tight-knit community, but most importantly, the grieving Collins family.
鈥淚 hope that we get justice for Kahleb and Ryleigh, and I hope that someday soon that we get to know if they have found his little body,鈥 Allen said. 鈥淚 hope that he is laid to rest in a peaceful state like he deserves to be.鈥

While there are still many unanswered questions about what led up to the children鈥檚 deaths, the community found strength in each other through prayer, singing and scripture.
Barbara Tidwell said she just can鈥檛 understand why anyone would hurt the two small children, especially when she feels so many people would鈥檝e loved them as their own.
鈥淚t was amazing that everybody pulls together in something like this to recognize the babies [whose] lives were taken,鈥 said Barbara Tidwell, who lives in Fayette County. 鈥淚t鈥檚 just a love for those kids. I never knew them. They didn鈥檛 deserve this, and I just wanted to support them.鈥
During the vigil, the family was presented a faceless portrait of Kahleb and Ryleigh.
