Now imagine losing access to 2 million meals.This is the reality for the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama, as USDA funding cuts hit food banks, schools, and farmers nationwide.Last year, the food bank distributed 24 million meals, yet Central Alabama needs 40 million meals annually to close the meal gap, according to Feeding America.Despite this setback, the foodbank remains steadfast, breaking ground on a new, larger facility to store more food and fight hunger.
